1. Hi all,

I'm looking for stand out performances of Running To Stand Still and Original of the Species from the Vertigo Tour. For OOTS, I'm specifically looking for what might be generally considered the best version played full band with Edge on guitar, not piano. And are there any versions of RTSS similar to the Chicago DVD? More specifically, where you can really hear Bono playing his guitar? I love the little bit he plays toward the end of the song on the DVD, simple notes but so beautiful. Did he ever play anything more drawn out on the tour for this tune? I think he's got more skill than he lets on but of course that's another topic entirely. But I loved his little contribution there. I'm after something similar. Thanks very much for any help!!!

    James
  2. I think Atlanta 11/18 is an excellent version of OOTS! I love the full band version with Edge on guitar!
  3. i reckon the most powerful version of Running to standstill on the vertigo tour would be the one from Berlin!!! With a snippet of Amazing Grace and on the day of the London bombings it's my pick!!
  4. The best OOTS-performance for me is from Milan (U218, never tried the bootleg) with that String Orchestra.

Indeed. By the way, anybody else loves that Norwegian Wood bit that Bono does alone on the stage? It's lovely

Absolutely - Even tho his guitar doesn't sound right. It's not possible he's that bad playing a single chord...
  10. OOTS on the Milan U218 DVD was pretty good, such a great guitar Edge uses (Epiphone Casino). For RTSS, Twickenham is good.
