  1. Best live versions of With Or Without You or Running To Stand Still? (and any other songs that come to mind, for that matter lol...)

    Having listened to the ZooTV Stockholm performance where they get Bjorn and Benni from ABBA along, my mind is pretty made up that it's the best version of WOWY I'm yet to come across - the alternate outro where Edge plays a different variation of the soloey bit just blew me away, gives it such a different feel.

    And I love the ZooTV versions of RTSS, (again...) Edge's guitar part just makes it for me. So eery and mystical, plus the way it always segues (is that the right word?) into WTSHNN is just brilliant...I can't pick out my favourite individual performance yet, though...

    Anyone else got any thoughts?
  2. They're fine renditions of WOWY and RTSS but for me Stockholm had the best version of Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses I've ever heard so far.
    I wish they'd play this song live more often.

    Agree, WGRYWH is my favourite song by them ever, and the Stockholm version is just magical - in U2 by U2, Adam describes it as a "torch song", and that performance really captures the feel of it for me (kinda like Fix You by Coldplay?). It's just so epic and magical for me...

    They've never really given it a good go yet which is a shame. They did away with the track pretty early on in ZooTV so that by the time they toured Australia it had been replaced by Zooropa tracks. Since then, they've rarely played it. I'm hoping that brilliant Honolulu show when that guy came up to play keyboard for it has helped them rediscover it for the next tour.

    They started playing the stripped down versions again on Vertigo tour, although I can't find a really good quality bootleg where it's played - the Twickenham one is only 2 stars or something? Not too keen on low stars, call me a snob, but yeah I really hope they play it a lot more during the next tour, same as you...

    Amsterdam 05-16 has Who's Gonna in it...and Chicago 09-21, both good quality.

    it is indeed. Nice up tempo acoustic. The quality of London Vertigo really isn't that bad either
