1. Right now, it feels as if the solar system is off it’s axis, as if one of our main planetary anchors has lost it’s orbit. That said—I am certain that wherever Bowie is now—I want to be there someday.
    Michael Stipe

Always changing and ahead of the curve, he was an artist whose excellence you aspired to. He will be sorely missed. - Bruce
  2. I had the same feeling. Thinking about all the artist I absolutely love. That they will be gone one day.
  3. Always been a fan....

    The new album is brilliant...

I Cant Give Everything Away is absolutely stunning...

    RIP David......
  4. I agree, I was never really a fan of Bowie and I'm too young to realise what impact he has made on pop/rock culture, but the last album is a masterpiece. Lazarus gives me new wave feelings like some of the darker stuff from The Cure. What an epic finale.
  5. Always liked him, but never really took the time to listen to his albums, doing it now, and I fell in love with his music.. Especially Black Star and Hunky Dory
  6. It's kind of unbelievable that he actually designed his last album & single as eerie indicators of what was to come for him. Listening to Lazarus and seeing its videoclip is painful now...

He was exceptional even in the very last moment. Long live, genius.

    It s true
  8. Indeed Sergio, may he rest in peace.

btw: I Can't Give Everything Away is fantastic imho.

    Also, here's Brian Enos response

David's death came as a complete surprise, as did nearly everything else about him. I feel a huge gap now. We knew each other for over 40 years, in a friendship that was always tinged by echoes of [comic characters] Pete and Dud.

Over the last few years – with him living in New York and me in London – our connection was by email. We signed off with invented names: some of his were 'mr showbiz', 'milton keynes', 'rhoda borrocks' and 'the duke of ear'.

I received an email from him seven days ago. It was as funny as always, and as surreal, looping through word games and allusions and all the usual stuff we did. It ended with this sentence: 'Thank you for our good times, brian. they will never rot'. And it was signed 'Dawn'.

I realise now he was saying goodbye.
  9. Never listened a lot to Bowie but I really love his last album. Its a masterpiece, amazing narrative. I Can't Give Everything Away, Lazarus but especially Black Star (second half) I love.
  10. I really love Starman and Jean Genie
