Cheers chap, means a lot .

Being fairly unorthodox, I just play and sing how I do at the time, if you know what I mean - it's not like the more I practice, the better I get, I'm just really temperamental. Once I've worked a tune out, it's there in my head and I remember everything, but it's more a case of unlocking it all at once lol. Sometimes I'll do a brilliant cover of something and suddenly think "damn, I'd better record this before I lose the vibe" and then when I stick the mp3 mike on, I'm bollocks lol. So fucking irritating ...

Maybe, You could just leave the recorder on all the time, and then dump the stuff you don't like

Heh, I do that from time to time, but large parts of it are just me fiddling about with my effects box, the odd cough and me talking to myself PLUS the necessary ballsups

    They can be productive though

Just another idea to throw into the pot,
A friend of mine uses one of those mp3 recorders on the PC, (I think it was super mp3 recorder) and it will start a new track if it has about 2 seconds of silence.
He said that that helped him to find stuff faster.

Ah, that's sounds damn handy. The problem is that I don't have a computer in my room, but if I did, I'd get hold of said stuff

How long is your mic cable ???

Maybe a extension cord for the mic (or wireless transmitter/ receiver combo)

Ah, sorry, I think I was a bit vague - the actual mike is inside my mp3 player, hence the quality isn't great shakes...I just stick said mp3 on to record with the microphone in any suitable place in my room and play guitar along to backing tracks etc. or whatever comes to mind. It's not a proper mike I'm afraid...

    Nope, it's my mistake ,
you had said (The problem is that I don't have a computer in my room, but if I did, I'd get hold of said stuff)
And I thought that it was just a matter of getting the audio to a computer.
