1. Call me behind the times, but having just watched Sam's (aka. thebonodrums) videos he's posted elsewhere of covers etc., I just had a sudden thought about how crazy this all is. I mean, here I am sitting in the arsehole of nowehere in the UK (England, to be precise), and I can watch videos posted by someone who lives on the other side of the world (to all intents and purposes) of them playing guitar at the click of a button. This may come across as a bit of a Philistine notion, but it's something that strikes me all the time, just wonder at how far man has come with regards to technology, and to think some clever sod in some laboratory/test centre/workshop etc. is constantly trying to come up with something EVEN MORE advanced...

    Absolutely mad...
  2. Yep...I always say: If the barbarians hadn't sacked Rome and it's empire, whe would have had houses on Mars by now. Rome already had toilets and stuff and sewerage. I took many centuries before that technology came back.

Well, the early Britons had come up with soap before the Romans did from what I know, but yeah I know what you mean

Imagine what the Egyptians would make of things now, considering they built the pyramids etc. thousands of years ago!

Well, nice topic this. I'm always interested in history and all that stuff. (Even thought about becoming a history-teacher). And I think the Egyptians didn't build these things, but some empire before them did. Anyway...we're getting off-topic this way.

I'm sometimes amazed when you realise that you can 'talk' (read: phone) someone anytime, who lives on the other side of the world.

    God; that's deep.

Know what you mean though. I've been having a virtual conversation with Nikki from NZ for a couple of weeks now and it's like it's just next door. Wierd...

Ha, yeah I talk on MSN etc. with some friends who live in Scotland etc. and for the east of England, that's far away enough for me to think "bloody hell" lol. And I'm glad you think that's deep, because it means that the last 2 years studying Philosophy for A-level haven't gone completely to waste lol!

I was more interested in the Crusades to be fair, but my early years were spent reading books called "Horrible Histories" (and thinking back to those innocent days lends a certan nostalgic notion to my memories...) and THEY reckoned the Egyptians built pyramids, but now you mention it I'm thinking of early civilisations in South America etc. with their massive temples etc., but I think you're right, this is off topic lol...
