  1. U2 and Apple? What could go wrong?!

    Seriously, on the one hand I doubt it'll happen again. On the other, the very first time SoE was mentioned, it was followed by something like "Apple and us have some pretty cool stuff planned for the next few years."

    Who knows.

  5. If SOE comes out September 7th I'll be surprised. It does almost mark SOI 2 year anniversary. We'll just wait and see if any rumors pop up a day or 2 ahead of Sept 7th or see what are the latest band sightings are. It could be on itunes that day but maybe not downloaded into everyone's itunes account. Then a cd to follow in October. But i kinda doubt it though. You never know, SOI came out of nowhere. I was working that day and opened Facebook and I saw SOI on the timeline and I freaked out.
  6. I also doubt they repeat the same move again. They had their share of attention (and backlash) back in 2014 and they won't do the same thing. Maybe SOE will be featured in the new Apple Music (or whatever it's called) software, or maybe integrated into that "video albums" platform that Bono discussed some time ago, but I would say there's a 99% chance that the album won't be given out for free through iTunes again.
  7. I agree with Sergio. I think it'll probably come as a surprise, in the sense that the release date will be unknown until the album is out. But I doubt they'll repeat what they did 2 years ago.

    I also remember the statement that they are going to be collaborating on cool new stuff.

    I think if we see a release in September, it will fall in line with 40th anniversary. But my gut tells me it will be more like late fall at the earliest...

    UNLESS they only play like 2-3 songs and they just play hits to be safe.
