1. I like to think that Bono writes his own speeches, but if he doesn't, then whoever writes them is a genius.

    For instance this bit:
From the songs of Lou Reed, Billie Holiday and the Ramones that taught us how to listen, to the New Yorkers at our earliest U.S. shows who taught us how to play (...)
    it's... beautiful.
  2. Free 6-month subscription of Sirius XM came with the car I bought in February. Pretty good time to have an account, I guess! Entered!

Kind of an outsiders perspective. Knowing a place ONLY through its artists is good but sort of on the surface.
  4. In that line he's not really talking about the place, he's talking about themselves: "you taught us to listen, you taught us to play".
  5. I know they all live in New York so they are understanding of the place. Point well taken.
  6. personally, I really enjoyed that LIBTAIIW acoustic version! somehow did not expect that, but it worked pretty well, imo can almost see it become one of those acoustic classics down the road...

i like this acoustic, too... but live, i want to see it in full band epic-ness!
  8. I thunk they did great on Ellen today! I’m always disappointed when the full band isn’t involved though.

Vertigo was fun! LIBTAIIW was OK. I feel if it was full band it would have been spectacular.

I also found Bono’s like about not being here if it wasn’t for the other three very touching.
