It's a complicated situation and a difficutl business. I wish they'd be more successful with that. Organic and ethical clothing is a good thing that many people certainly support, but the fashion has to be fashionable and affordable.
I quote myself because there is a direct correlation between the Louis Vuitton campaign, their 49% stake of Edun and Edun producing cheaply in China - saying they produce ethical clothing, helping African workers to improve their situation.
I also mentioned what I do to engage myself in helping African people. So I actually go ahead and do something. There is no "instead of". Unfortunately I rarely meet heads of states, so my contribution is rather unnoticed.
You seem to agree with Bono's approach, so I'd be interested to know how you see the situation. For a start -
