1. It’s not so much about being happy and more about people being disappointed with the way it was built up. Having said that they did only give it 12 hours notice or so, it wasn’t exactly days worth of anticipation. If they had just announced it though without the pre announcement then there probably wouldn’t have been so many people voicing there disappointment.
  2. I don't get why some people are so freaking upset. Yes the announcement is a big joke, but no need to get infuriated

I want my newly paid subscription back , why should i have to pay more again to hear an already empty echochamber as they DONT release barely anything , and ZERO live stuff unless its been thru a million over dubs by edge and Bono in a studio singing over the top of previous piss poor live vocals !!!! Cant just release a RAW warts an all live album now can we??!!

This band has lost the plot!

Never thought i would see the day that u2 became M.O.R dinosaurs!!!

you could/should have figured that out before you renewed your subscription. It's not that hard, is it?
And like others said, they should not use a U2 show for these kind of announcements.. apart from that, there's nothing to complain about.
  4. Some people like to find a way to get annoyed about things. To most like myself it’s probably a little disappointing after the slight build up but not a big deal.

Yeah true true I guess, and well that really goes back to the Elevation tour so 20 years now almost. It just kinda feels a wee bit tacky to announce as part of a performance I suppose.

I have a distant memory of there being a plan back on the Zoo TV tour of trying to get a TV channel up and running, but the idea was obviously canned fairly quickly. I guess a radio station almost 30 years later will have to suffice Hopefully there will be something tasty from the archives at some point. We can hope I guess.
  6. I didn't expect something interesting at all but I have questions here:

The new single got thrown at us like "swallow that thing or die" - no announcements, no newsletter until after it happened. Just like that - there you go.

A USA only satellite radio is introduced at a Japanese ?!?!? concert, and we get harrassed with newsletters, several social media posts beforehand and a live stream (nice seeing a song from the show, tho) for something that unimportant - because it's only interesting for Americans and it's not even live yet.

I am certain, 99% of the attendees didn't even know what was happening there and what that U2XRadio on the screen did mean.
It was really an odd way to introduce this thing, that is probably long forgotten when it finally will be available. On the other end of the world, where this will NEVER be (legally) available?!?

All of that is really confusing.

Not upset here, but I am really wondering and confused. This is just kinda weird.
And yes, given the effort they put in all those announcements - it IS lame.

  7. So let me get this straight...

With 5G, 4K and UltraHD streaming we get (fanfare) a radio show?

    Erm......o......kaaaaaay...
  8. I'm in the US, so I understand getting a notification about this "announcement." But fans around the world also got the emails too??
That's shitty..Hopefully they'll figure out a way to make Sirius and Pandora available to all without having to use a VPN. And yeah, they're 10+ years behind with this announcement, could have done it long ago.

Regarding Ahimsa, I'm glad they released it, didn't feel it was "rammed down our throats" LOL

    Agreed.

  10. No way lol. But I guess my expectations were low. Actually even lower than the actual announcement.
  11. I actually am looking forward to this new station in spite of the poorly executed announcement. Hopefully the "archive rarities" are actually unheard.
  12. All this complaining is a major first world problem. Time to move on.
