1. So let me get this straight...

With 5G, 4K and UltraHD streaming we get (fanfare) a radio show?

    Erm......o......kaaaaaay...
  2. I'm in the US, so I understand getting a notification about this "announcement." But fans around the world also got the emails too??
That's shitty..Hopefully they'll figure out a way to make Sirius and Pandora available to all without having to use a VPN. And yeah, they're 10+ years behind with this announcement, could have done it long ago.

Regarding Ahimsa, I'm glad they released it, didn't feel it was "rammed down our throats" LOL

If they had just announced it though without the pre announcement then there probably wouldn’t have been so many people voicing there disappointment.
    Agreed.

  4. No way lol. But I guess my expectations were low. Actually even lower than the actual announcement.
  5. I actually am looking forward to this new station in spite of the poorly executed announcement. Hopefully the "archive rarities" are actually unheard.
  6. All this complaining is a major first world problem. Time to move on.
  7. By first world, you mean the majority of the world that can't use what they announced? Including the place where they announced it? ? I'm actually excited about the channel. Hopefully there are concerts broadcast that haven't seen the light of day yet
  8. Still waiting on “just kidding... here’s our new album, we already put it under your X-mas tree”
  9. Lol, veeeerrryyyyy much so.

Y'all need to step out of the U2 bubble for a bit and not get so mad about this lol.

Also for anyone expecting an album drop, are you serious? You must be new here. I don't expect a U2 album until at least 2021 lol. Maybe I'll be wrong, but there are certainly more examples of making us wait that long between ending a tour and putting an album out than there are examples of the opposite.
  10. It's a shame because that X image was quite cool
  11. So I have somewhat of a first world problem with this. I just purchased a new vehicle 3 months ago, and it came with a free xm trial. That trial is about to expire, and I wasn’t really planning on subscribing. I like XM, but it doesn’t really seem worth it to pay for it when I also pay for Apple Music and use that as my main source of music listening from my phone. Now I’m on the fence. There’s a lot I like about XM, and it gets me to listen to things I normally may not ever hear. Most of the time on Apple Music I just listen to the bands/albums I already know I like.

Do you guys think this station will actually have interest content, or will it just be the same U2 songs I can listen to anytime I want in other ways? FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS!!!

Ps- those Japanese fans were probably wondering WTF was going on lol
  12. Also, it’s humorous to me that some people thought it was going to be an album or tour announcement, or a more likely AHIMSA EP release, and it ended up being this instead.

What would be awesome is if U2 would release SOA in 2020 sometime with little fanfare, and then release the more traditional U2 rock album in 2021, with a big tour to follow. Kind of what Coldplay’s currently doing with EL. That’s the dream scenario!
