U2 perform for Hamish & Andy
U2 played a couple songs and sat down for a brief chat with Australian radio personalities Hamish & Andy on Friday in Melbourne. The band did acoustic versions of "Desire" and "Vertigo" in front of a surprised crowd at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. It was Hamish & Andy's last radio show and the live event was part of their "Thank You Tour" around the country.

Several media outlets reported today that The Black Eyed Peas front-man, Will.i.am, has signed on to produce a new U2 album. Apparently a friendship formed during the months that his band opened for U2 on the 360 tour last year.
He told The Sun:
"...just being around Bono and the guys is inspiring. It's like how a government should be. Bono for president of the world, I say. I try and do good and my bit to help the world but Bono is on another level. My car's pretty cool but he has a spaceship."
There is no word yet on when this new partnership will liftoff, but Will.i.am did mention he played some of the songs he and Bono had been working on for George Clooney and Cindy Crawford (also guests at Bono's house) and they were "blown away."
