  1. "Stuck" is obviously a deeply personal song for Bono (and the rest of the guys too) due to its connection with Michael Hutchence. Sure, there are "better" songs out there they could have played, but it is a unique song lyrically (the conversational format), which is what Letterman was asking about in the first place--songwriting.
    I think it's sort of lame/tired to just pass this song off as shit (obviously it's all opinion anyway)...but I think we should just get over it. It means a lot to Bono and I think he sort of needs to sing it every now and then because maybe he felt he should've done something to help his friend before he committed suicide. Since the song is written as an "argument between friends," it might still serve as a way for Bono to deal with his grief/guilt/depression/etc. Also, as someone pointed out half-jokingly, the song was/is a hit in the US and casual music fans know and like it, so hey, why the hell not? Of course, I'd like to hear it in full band form again, but I'm not gonna nitpick

    (As I've said before, I'm just glad my favorite band is still together and performing...I'm not gonna be a douchebag and bitch about one song they chose to play on David Letterman in between 360 shows. Please.)

  4. Then I'm the weird guy... it doesn't sound great to me. At all. Bono should have stood up to be able to sing it well, and Edge messes up a few chords here and there. Not a stand-out performance, even for the Stuck standards.

    It's the rawness that makes it. Bono rarely gets that much into a song. I credit that more than the noise that comes out of his mouth.

    B & Edge, can still enjoy playing accoustic,
    without worrying too much about being 'Tight.'

  8. It drives me nuts to see all the hate for Stuck on this site. It's a lovely song, and one that is obviously near and dear to their hearts since it's you know, about their good friend who died...

  10. I think the "hate" for songs like "Stuck" and even more so, "In a Little While" stems from them being a bit overplayed on this tour - at least in 2009/2010. They are two solid U2 songs from a very good album. I would also like to add, however, that they aren't as good as "Walk On" or "Kite" nor do they pack the live punch of "BD" or "Elevation."
