    I think the origins of this song should be clarified.

    This version of the song was never released and I had also heard talk about this particular version (although never heard of it) for a very long time, so I assume it was recorded during the original Bomb sessions and just never found its way to a release. Additionally, I did a little background checking on the charity that they are releasing this song for (Every Mother Counts) and I believe it's for a very good cause. Also, the song's lyrics make it a perfect fit.

    I understand why you would dislike it when artists "remake" an old song and sell it as new, but I wouldn't call this selling. Donating is a more appropriate term. It's the same thing when Walk On was put on a compilation CD in support of Japan after the earthquakes and tsunamis. This is an extension of U2's role as a charitable band and not a cash grab.
  7. Ah,there is a misunderstanding here :-) with "selling" I didn't actually mean a cash grab. It's a term used in German I just translated 1:1 without thinking but it changed the meaning. I meant they put it out and declare it as "new" or "new version" when it's still a song we already know. :-)

  12. Auto-tune? I know what auto-tune sounds like and it most definitely does not sound like that...


    But this version of Original Of The Species sounds like how I would think it would sound like if Bono and Edge had performed it for the Clinton Benefit concert.
