    I'm not sure you can say it was with reservation... plus with the phone calls to leaders every night it may have been in an effort to be ironic but it was still political.
  2. My mistake! I meant Sellafield, damnit.

    And look at the Sellafield stuff, yeah it was political and done with green peace, but it was done in their rock star personas, and the Sarajevo thing was still done using the theme of the tour, same goes with macphisto. There's a difference between standing there before One talking about poverty and AIDS medication and forcing people to watch innocent people beg for peace in the middle of a rock show. One is our front man preaching and the other is watching the actual thing happen. Yeah the latter is more political and in your face, but it still put the political thing on U2 and not Bono alone. Bono is the only really public activist now, it's not even U2 as a group anymore.

On “State of Grace,” which Swift released yesterday, she sounds heavily influenced by U2 (or even Switchfoot) — ethereal guitars and moody overtones ring out over a driving midtempo drum beat as she delivers a lyric you could imagine Bono singing: “This is a state of grace/This is a worthwhile fight/ Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right.”

    I was watching the video thinking what's sergio talking about, it's not that bad. then the stars falling thing started...

    The influence is surely there...god I miss hearing something new from the boys...
