1. When I posted my previous post, I was thinking of that video featuring Edge looking for the right sound for Boots on his own all night long. Society is where Bono gets his inspiration from. One Step Closer was inspired by a conversation with Noel Gallagher. The Ground Beneath Her Feet is a result of socializing. Bono has to get his ideas somewhere, forcing them is not the right way.

I do agree but isn't it when the four are together that miracles happen?

I didn't know the One Step Closer story. Care elaborating?

  4. From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Step_Closer_(U2_song)

"One Step Closer" is billed in the album with thanks to Noel Gallagher of Oasis. The title of the song comes from a conversation Bono had with Gallagher about Bono's dying father, Bob Hewson. Bono asked, "Do you think he believes in God?" to which Gallagher replied, "Well, he's one step closer to knowing."

  5. Yeah, that is what I was referring to. The song gets better when you know the story.

I also remember 'coming from a long line of travelling sales people on my mother's side' in a 2007 interview and 'make your enemies interesting' in the 2005 Hall of Fame induction.
  6. Sigh. I'm sure there's a good explanation behind it, but we'll never hear it.
  7. just saw the reddit posts... my friends that hate U2 and are on reddit are having a field day D:
  8. It stings somewhat.
