1. MX is Coldplay's best album, imo. I much prefer their uplifting songs to their extremely mellow/drab majority of everything else they produced.

But I think the issue with U2 is that they are going far out of their comfort zone for the sake of trying to be relevant. With Achtung Baby, they went out of their comfort zone because it was a natural progression of where the band wanted to go, not because they wanted to become more famous. I think if they simply do what they enjoy, take the direction that they as a band want to take, and not give a crap about what people who aren't fans are thinking about, they will produce a stellar album.

And then again, NLOTH wasn't a terrible album. It had a lot of great songs, some I would even call their best.

Regarding the use of their songs, I actually would rather not hear their songs used all over the place. Good music elicits an emotional response when heard, so good songs should only be used in very particular situations, otherwise those songs will lose their meaning. One example of a good song that was ruined by overuse is Coldplay's Fix Me. It's a fantastic song, an extremely emotional song. But when it got used on virtually every single elimination show ever possible, I bet it started to lose its value. I wouldn't know because I don't watch crap.

Let's take Streets for example. We don't hear it on the radio much and we don't see it used in commercials very often. But all of us know that whenever we hear it, wherever we hear it, that songs gives us a sense of excitement and anticipation. I want songs like that to maintain their magic, so please don't wear them out.
  2. Dudes!
Tiesto's remix of Pride is imo better than original.
  3. to follow Sergio's recipe for these situations:

    U2 - Gloria
I’m obviously a big U2 fan. Who isn’t? There’s a song called “Gloria” from U2, and it’s a really beautiful song and very euphoric. It’s a really special song for me. That’s how I discovered U2. I went to U2 concerts probably 10 or 15 times in my life.
