1. Just heard that Larry Mullen said that a new album will come in September this year!!
  2. Yup:
    REPORT: LARRY SAYS U2 PLANNING NEW ALBUM BY SEPTEMBER 2013

    @U2, January 09, 2013

    Larry Mullen Jr. has reportedly told Irish DJ Dave Fanning that U2 is looking to have its next album released by September 2013. That's the word via Twitter from Yvonne Judge, a 2FM radio editor who shared the photo at right of Mullen and Fanning together in the studio today (no doubt taping the interview), and then shared this sneak peek at Larry's album news:

    This Saturday on @Davefanningshow on 2fm, Larry Mullen Jnr tells Dave U2 aiming to have new album released by September. #2fm #U2

    I bet it will be 2014 to be honest
  3. Weird that this is all we've heard of it
  4. It's something concrete at least! And coming from Larry it sounds miles more plausible than from Bono
  5. You can rely on Larry. September 2013 it is then. Let the speculation end. Larry has spoken and he doesn't waste his words, now does he?
  6. It's weird that Bono hasn't been running his mouth for the past few months though if it's that close to completion

  7. Larry probably threatened Bono that he'll kick his ass if he's going to tell people bullshit. That's the only explanation.

    Most likely!

  9. You're right.

    He has done it for the last 3 years xD

    Remember that abundant talk about a supposed "songs of ascent really realllllly close to be released" started back in Winter 2009-10........
  10. I mean I think I believe it, in theory they should be done with an album by now LOL they had "leftovers" from NLOTH, and Breaking Wave, NS, etc shouldn't take THAT long to get down for a new album. I'm optimistic!
  11. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that EBW, NS, Mercy (official studio) and the NLOTH "leftovers" won't be on the new album. I think they might be released as a side thing or something like that, but I don't think the band wants the new album to be known as "the album of leftovers."
