1. For anyone who's read At The End of the World more than a few times like I have, you'll have laughed at the site of Bono and Dave Grohl hanging out like I did.

I've read it and I actually own it but I won't have it by my side for some time... Could you scan or photograph that page?

Oh I can't remember the page, there's just a great part where Bono talks to Dave Grohl about the inevitability of Nirvana getting bigger and playing bigger places and Dave Grohl just denies it. Basically Bono is trying to give him advice, and the next thing Bono knows Dave Grohl says to Rolling Stone "yeah Bono wanted to change the band but I told him no" and Bono says something along the lines of "Not the brightest member of the group"

Let's hope, let's hope. Thanks for the heads up Yogi

Good thing. Things are starting to move...
  8. Excellent. I can't wait.
  9. Even if this isn't true I'm blown away by the lack of PR. If U2 is releasing an album this year how come we haven't heard ANYTHING about it? I know I've blabbed about this enough already but I remember the months leading up to NLOTH being very different than this. We all knew NLOTH was going to be the title, we knew of a few rumored song names, we had a few beach clips and a few hints from the band, the information taht they were recording in Morocco, and all that stuff. This silence is weirding me out so much I'm real damn excited. I hope it's a sign of change.

In a perfect world I come onto my computer one day to find that U2 released a single without announcing it and it sounds nothing like the U2 we know.

Maaaan, I would LOVE that! Would make my year!!
I really wish some truth comes out of these rumors...I'm going to catch a live show this time at last!!
  11. They're doing it the Bowie way. If they come up with an album that is as strong as the best 11 tracks on The Next Day, I'm already wetting my pants

+1! The new Bowie album is awesome. If U2 could do an album this good, it'd be massive!

On reflection, they haven't been all that silent: various members of the band (and their manager) have announced a late 2013 release. This fits with the safe enough assumption that the next tour will begin in arenas, in the Spring - the latest U2 arenas tours have all started in the late winter/Spring (JT, ZOO TV, Elevation, Vertigo).

I like it this way: less words, more great music! The last two albums that followed this pattern - NGHFB and The Next Day - were terrific.
