1. Jesus christ, if anyone doesn't like hearing Bono being bashed than I suggest you stay away from the comments section on that youtube video..it makes you wonder whether we're biased as U2 fans for knowing so much about him and his efforts and feel like we understand him, or are we biased in the bad way that we can't see whether or not he's full of it and all of these haters are right?

Obviously I'm of the opinion that Bono is just trying to use his status to get points across that might not be able to be made otherwise. I think people just like to pick on him because they can.
  2. I honestly, whole-heartedly believe that this is the genesis of a lot of why it's so fucking "cool" to hate Bono:

  3. probably

  4. Well that was kinda brilliant.

And I can understand why people dislike him, he is a bit of a arrogant guy , makes a lot of money, sells out many stadiums and arena's. Also a lot of people think he doesn't pay his taxes in Ireland, we here know how that is worked out but the majority just think he doesn't pay any taxes at all in Ireland.

And to be honest, I always disliked the bla bla bla about Africa too.
  5. Yeah it was a brilliant satire, it just all of a sudden made it cool to continue to hate on him for absolutely no educated reason.

I love that episode. I basically give myself a stomach-ache laughing when he answers the phone "HELLO HELLO?!"

But still. People see that and then they see the following things:

-A guy with a fuckin' ton of money
-"We need to help people in Africa. Donate money!"

And all they put together is "Do it yourself, moron."
  6. What they don't realise though is that it's not Bono's job to help those in need. It's the job of humanity. Bono simply helps to bring attention to the situation with his massive status.
  7. I also despise how people hate U2 just because they hate Bono. Totally makes sense.
  8. And to be honest, I always disliked the bla bla bla about Africa too.

well someone has to move things from the dead point. I dont't blame him for talking too much, in fact I like that... when on purpose... and even when it's not Anyway,

What they don't realise though is that it's not Bono's job to help those in need. It's the job of humanity. Bono simply helps to bring attention to the situation with his massive status.

    +1

-A guy with a fuckin' ton of money
-"We need to help people in Africa. Donate money!"

And all they put together is "Do it yourself, moron."

Fair point, but in the end he only asks for the crumbs from your table

And yes, I'm excited about the news surrounding the new album too
  9. Regarding that news, I can tell you that there has been absolutely no sound -other than the waves and the seagulls- coming from the HQ Studios in Dublin for the last 2 days. Maybe tomorrow they resume work after the St Paddys celebrations...
  10. I believe that what Bono does for Africa is more important than what he does in U2. He can go on and on and on about it if he wants to.
