1. I hope it's one of those albums like that Prince one that came out with literally no promotion. Walk into a record store and just see it sitting there, then do some promotion a week or so after the 'no promotion' launch.

That'd be the ultimate way to put out an album.
  2. My guess: First single released during the summer with the album coming out right at the start of Fall.
  3. My guess: Nothing this year.

  4. That is my guess too.

But Tim's guess is my fear.
  5. I predict a single in October with album release in late November.
  6. I predict, Abdication, followed by one last Gig at The O2!
  7. Just release something already IMO. The longer they take to work on it the shitter it gets. Unless it's like Pop > ATYCLB. I'll have an album of that quality after a big break any day. They took too long screwing around with NLOTH and it didn't turn out to be their greatest thing ever, just get in, write it, record it, put it out.

They've got enough material left over from the SoA sessions and plus some new stuff they've written or even still have left over from ATYCLB or HTDAAB (Mercy any one?) that they should have one polished off by now.

    Pop - ATYCLB = 3 years
    ATYCLB - HTDAAB = 4 years
    HTDAAB - NLOTH = 4 years
NLOTH - new album = 4 years already verging on 5.

    JUST GET IT OUT.
  8. "we're in Dublin" ... doing what?

If a new album will be released in late 2013, it will be a 4,5 year gap. Now look at those numbers. The gap isn't that big considering the three years of touring and the age of the band. Even a five year gap would be ordinary.
  10. as you put Passengers, then put Spiderman too
  11. Uh, it's huge. The longest of their career. Or second longest. W/e. Look at what the longest gap of their career bought for us.. NLOTH. Sick. Yeah they toured for 3 years, but boy, they had a lot of time off too. Their age isn't really relevant considering there is four in the band called U2, who all collaborate and write songs. Look at Bruce Springsteen. 63, writes albums on his own, tours harder than U2 do and he's put as many albums out in the last 5 years as U2 have this millenium.
  12. Yeah but as they get longer, they get more overproduced.
