1. I've said many times that Pop was an album left unfinished.

But in retrospect, all of the "remakes" that the band have done have fallen short of the original album versions, with the exception of Please. I want to see them bring back Please.
  2. Pop is fine as it is. An unfairly maligned and under appreciated work by an excited and curious band. We'll be lucky if they produce something as interesting again. I want them to release something exciting and brilliant, but the length of time it's taking them to capture lightning in a bottle again is a bit worrying. Danger Mouse has been associated with this project for a very long time now. It seems to be taking forever to reach the finish line which can only indicate uncertainty. If they can't get an album out by the end of this year, then they should just call it a day. Nobody wants another over produced over thought bore.
  3. God, I love Pop but "Please" is shocking.
  4. Strangely and for no apparent reason POP has been my album of choice for the past 48hrs!!!

I have a burned CD with the single versions replacing the album versions - and a few B:Sides thrown in at the end for good measure. sounds great on the old HI-FI system.

And i agree Pop should be left alone as it is as they would only end up making a second rate album which would be absolutely slated by fans

  5. ...is "shocking" a good thing or a bad thing? Remember: I'm Canadian, Tim.

I'm thinking a bad thing but I have (mis)used the term as a positive descriptor.

There's no point in touching Pop now. Sure it's flawed but it still a very good record - and like many of you have said, there are several alternative versions to many songs on the actually album to make your own personal improvements.

I think that's the thing that I worry about the most. And people I know who don't really listen to U2 always bring this up, "why do I never hear of them if they're so great except for every couple of years?" I realize they're getting old, straight up. And my last hope for something great is this album. Sure I'd see them live forever, but I need, and I think THEY need, to keep pushing new music. And taking forever on an album didn't work for NLOTH D:
  7. It is an amazing album as it is, full of amazing songs as they are. Should they ever touch Pop again, shall it be for playing some of those songs live!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Bad

Live, I think it's great. Leading into Streets only increases it's greatness, but the album version is so lifeless I think. I haven't listened to the songs for a while but I do recall the single version being an improvement (though I could be thinking of something else). The video is exceptional though, one of their best for me. That said, I love all of the Pop videos
  9. The Please video is superb.

Let's continue with this offtopicness. I love it. xD
  10. Please needs to be played next tour though, like come on U2! Even on 360 Please and Discotheque would have been PERFECT. I really want to have a sit down interview with U2 and only ask them about Pop LOL
  11. I wish they manage to play Do You feel Loved live in a decent way...

    POP is a jewel
