  1. I'm also very impatient and want the new album out as soon as possible. The reason I feel like we all want it out soon, besides getting a new U2 album, is the fact that they're old. We don't want it to be their last album. But to be honest, I would rather wait and have them release an amazing final album than 2 or 3 rushed, crap albums that won't make it close to the public eye. I support their idea on relevance. How awesome would it be to turn on MTV, VH1, the radio and hear U2 again? Maybe if they're relevant again, they'll make more records. I want them to have a (most likely) last album be viewed as a masterpiece. Not only to us, because we think every album is great, but people who only love the hits, or are not even familiar with U2. It's time for them to restart again, but it's harder to do that in your 50's instead of your late 20's-early 30's. I want an album soon, but I want it to be perfect, and if that means just waiting a few months, then I'm fine with that. SORRY FOR THE LONG POST!!!!!
  2. They wont ever be as relevant as they were. I can see them scoring some hits,but thats it. Live they can be relevant, the 360 tour was a success on all levels.

    sure then can still playing for many years like the Rolling Stones but i think they are not that kind ... i think when they see that they can t do anything that the world like , they are going to retire .... they want to be on top if not ... they go home ...and Bono will be happy being a politician

    So people here of the band when they land in their country for a few shows. By that stage the radio play has long since dried up. Many big acts pass through Ireland without me noticing but if a big act has release new material I usually hear about it.

    If U2 want to be relevant they need to dramatically increase their output. And even that is no guarantee. They are an old band with a front man who thinks he is 25. That can't be escaped.

    The best time for them has passed ... that is the true , but they still can be the best band of the world ...but i don t think they can make a cd like JT or AB

    I wish ( or we wish) they to increase their output. but we know this is not going to happen

    Tonight with us we have people who turn the whole concept of celebrity on its head - celebrities are supposed to be somebody special - film stars, rock stars, are celebrities who are supposed to be heros - but we're not hereos - we are people who love what we do - but here tonight we have people from the fire department and police department in New York City. Men and women who came down to catch the U2 show tonight. Here is the kind of bravery that can truly change the world.

    So its possible to glue these two subjects together - the poverty in these far off places and the bravery of some of the places closer to home - if we could join these places together we might have something. This is for you.

  12. I wouldn't say that they are irrelevant just yet but if they tout that as their goal then they soon will be.
