  1. If you think about it, 10 years can still mean quite a bit. From 2000 to 2010, U2 released ATYCLB, HTDAAB, and NLOTH. Given their more relaxed pace, I'm guessing we'll probably see at most two more albums and two tours in the next 10 years.

  3. Same. But if Bono's voice in Ordinary Love and the Aslan cover were any indications, I think he may be in much better shape than all of us initially thought.

    But we are basing this on the assumption that the only factor determining the band's direction is Bono's voice. If any of the other three feel like it's time to settle down, I think they'll all call it a wrap.

    I wasn't basing it off of Bono's voice alone (maybe I missed that part of the conversation)

    I'm just basing it off of where they are in their career, what's happened with Paul, the amount of time that's become apparent during their albums. Unless their next album catches the world by a huge firestorm I can see them deciding that it's time.

    I'm not saying I don't think they have it in them, I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised.

    I agree, but I also think this is how it should be. They have a certain age! We're younger; they're pretty much in their mid-50's. They'll have to scale down - it is inevitable. Two more tours... but maybe more albums, who knows. And smaller tours. Even if no tours at all at some point, Bowie has shown that you can still make the best music while being 'retired', if you have it in you.

    The biggest question mark for a while was Bono's voice. It hasn't been discussed much recently, but I think from a general standpoint, fans tend to base the well being of a band on the well being of the head singer.

    I think right now, people don't really know what they have in them. I mean, if they can pump out an album that is of the same quality one average as Ordinary Love, I think they'll stick around for another after that.
