1. PS

Please let's keep this to news, not discussion or other OT stuff.

  2. Well a)not as many as Jay. b)I personally don't see the issue with Rihnna either. But that's not the point of my discussion and I'm not about to start a "I like her..." and wait for a "she sucks" back and forth. Also everyone is right, no one said Jay or Swizz were linked to the song, it's just wishful thinking on my part. U2 are my favorite band of life but I also really love rap music and often wish that the band would work with some of my favorites (ie. Kanye & Jay),

Nevertheless, I'm sorry to get off topic. When do you think we can expect this song? I would guess in the coming days?

There's a new song coming? See what happens when you decide to bitch about things - you miss things like a new song!

What I did mean was you said 'Jay-Z is respected - has had a few number one albums'. So I took that to mean Rhianna must be respected too as well as all the other terrible artists who have had number one albums, even though I thought others like NAS and Jay-Z and Will Smith are all doing it pretty well. Hey, all the bands I like have made one or two dodgy albums each (some even more, unbelievably) and U2 are no exception to that.

Not huge on new rap music - it kinda lost me back in the mid-90s (although I love that Walk This Way version with Run-DMC and the video owns all). One of my other favourites, Michael Jackson started working with them in the early 90s on Dangerous. That's when I thought not only had rap lost it but he'd lost it too with rappers on the first three songs of his last album as he kept it up until 2001. Anyway, Rhianna isn't a rapper.

As said, back on topic. This new song...it should be interesting to hear and if it's offered on iTunes or even on a proper CD I will buy it most definitely.

  4. The Weary Kind

Where is it confirmed and is it called The Weary Kind?

(hoping you didn't say it and I missed it).

  6. Not sure where it's confirmed (I read that Clooney announced Bono would be on this telethon thing) but the song being referred to is the one that won the Golden Globe last night
  7. Yep "The Weary Kind" is the name of the golden globe - winning song, thought you asked that...

And i can't remember were i read he would sing the new song (though it actually is kind of obvious to sing your new Haïti-song if you're performing on a Haïti-benefit concert...)
But that Bono will perform this friday is also confirmed by atu2 =>

It took Paul McCartney half an hour to write Yesterday. I'm just saying....
  12. yea i guess it could be good. I just dont wanna hear some underproduced unfinished song. We all know how the boys feel about Pop. I cant stand unfinished songs such as the album version of Gone. The New Mix is pure gold.
