1. Bono's like Madonna... Old school, get up, dust yourself off and carry on. Like footballers years ago compared to today's bunch. He played on in Oct 87, he recovered for the 2nd euro leg of 360, he will be ok for May. I have a feeling it won't be a running around, jumping in crowd, climbing lighting towers type of show anyway.

Given Bono's accident history, I think it would be best for him to keep two feet on the ground
  3. well thats sympathetic and understanding, anybody care to dispute or feel as though this is going to suck

Many people want to listen anyway so a way to be everyone happy ( except you ) is the medleys . The songs were played in 10 minutes 4 classics and many people are happy.

Did you read my post at all ?
I gave arguments why medley's won't be a (good) solution, I don't see any counterargument why it WOULD be
You just say 'it would make people' happy Why ? If they're still crappy and quick with not emotions (read my post), it wouldn't.

But to go on-topic again : please recover, rehearse and give us a mindblowing tour instead of writing songs now. I don't think they (or Bono in particular) can do both atm.

    I'll guess that he means:
    a) many fans still want to hear the classics, played right or wrong or lazy or whatever, they want to hear them.
    b) many fans would rather skip the classics (because the band doesn't "feel them" anymore) and devote that time to some fresh blood tracks

A medley would throw a bone to the fans in the "a" category, while having more time to throw a couple of extra songs for the fans in the "b" category.

I wouldn't like a medley, but tbh, if they decided to go that route I wouldn't leave the concert angry because of that...

I don't think this is anything to be concerned about. Remember that Bono's arm was apparently broken to the point that the bone was exposed. That's an injury that requires major surgery with a lot of physical therapy and rehab to regain motion.

My personal interpretation of Bono's health update is that he's probably able to do his regular physical therapy exercises without any issues, but outside of physio he's keeping his movement reserved to avoid injuring it again.

    Hmm ok...
  8. All right folks, enough with that medley discussion. Remember that we have a thread to discuss the new tour, but this space is to discuss news and sightings of the band.
  9. In a Rolling Stone Magazine interview Bono Says it will be a race to be fit on opening night. Bless him !!
  10. If this man ain't a hero I don't know who is.

  11. I was just going to post that. Another shout out. Nice.
  12. That's awesome I can see Bono being a great person to hang out with!
