But where are you getting this? I haven't seen it rumored/reported anywhere (aside from the Achtung Baby remaster... and sorry but the Mexico rumor does not affect me at all.)

  2. Well, for once I wish they were true - at the least the ones on the single and the album in the Fall.

The single doesn't sound implausible to me: that would give some more sprint to the tour. On the other hand, if the single is not there to support an album, U2 may also consider not to 'waste' a song after the misfiring of their last three singles. Though obviously the song wouldn't be 'wasted' for the rest of us ...

  3. So if the talk from the band is true, the album will be following so people can get an idea of the new songs, if they bother to actually work with it properly.

I remember when they tried putting out an early single and then an album quite a while afterwards - it had been forgotten. No Line On The Horizon, or something.

    Achtung Baby remaster in september.

Not excited for a remaster. It's really rehashing the old - while U2 mightn't be throwing out greatest hits, remasters come awfully close, even though the only worthwhile one so far has been The Joshua Tree. It better have a decent video release or at least any kind of DVD accompanying it doesn't have 16 versions of One - I'd like to hear more than a few of the known titles from the sessions and see just how good or terrible they were or at least a few epic-length instrumentals.

Then I guess Australia is a bit further off, especially if South America was meant to be first leading on to Australia.

Whatever for? Apart from the novelty factor, you can't really re-record October, as good as an album that is.

I would not call the span from the end of January to the 3rd of March "quite a while" at all. As I said a lot of acts do this and are quite successful with it, as well people need to decide what to blame for the lack of success with the new album. First "Get On Your Boots" was a horrible song they said, now it was too long a gap between the single and the album? (Among other things). I'd love a single release in the summer with the second single coming when the album drops.
  5. U2 shooting of new video clip in Weesp (Netherlands) mid April

And again, where did you get this from? Haven't seen this particular rumour floating around before.

Different sources on- and offline. DVD release date seems to be the most reliable (March date was postponed a while ago).
New Single seems rather vague. Achtung Baby's September re-release was already mentioned in a Universal newsletter last year (2011 would make more sense, though).
The reworked thing popped up last year, too. New Versions for a new best of would be an explanation.
But again, right now it's just rumours.
  7. OMG I don't want a Pasadena DVD

  8. seems unlikely they'd release anything else at this point, what with the attention it got and the explicit statements of it being filmed for a dvd
  9. Man, U2 makes me feel so confused...New cd, dvd, single, early 2010, late 2010, old new cd...

    Now I just want something!
  10. Too bad for Mexico, bootlegs would be awesome...

But that might be due to mass murders that are happening there during last few months...
  11. We'll see what rumours become true. Probably a reworked album with also new material, called Reworked Songs of Ascent.
