1. Larry is a super-secretive guy. I think he's involved in many Dublin-centered charities and organizations, but we will never see him as the front man of anything. Well, besides composing the hymn for Ireland in the World Cup of 1990...
  2. Fair enough. Larry rarely gives remarks and interviews, so it's hard to get into his head and figure out what he does during U2's downtime. It would be interesting to spend a day with him.

he's so incredibly gifted with that voice - and all his musical skills to turn a simple guitar and his voice into something that beautiful.
Edge's solo album? Wow, I have never heard about such a think even ever being considered. Even a mention of such a thing is a very nice surprise. To be honest, if he did a solo tour (which he once said he never would) it would please me even more than a U2 tour. Really.
  4. I don't remember what context it was, but he said he thought about it often, but he knows he would never finish it. - on the TIFF Q&A about FTSD Edge said "We never finish our albums we just release them" - so, he can do the same with his solo album right?
He doesn't need to tour alone. Just being U2's supporting act would be fine with me
  5. Yea, but IF he did a solo tour, he would tour small places. Wouldn't that be incredible? On top of the main fact that it would be an mamazing show of course. Just dreaming out loud really, but that event and that clip gives me a nice excuse
  6. He would love to tour small places then I think but - he also knows, to please all fans he should play big arenas.

But yeah, we can dream out loud. Who knows, there will be a past-U2 time and I cannot imagine Edge will stop doing that music thing ever.

I actually think arenas would not sell out and he would play small places, which would be great for true fans of course, but it is very sad generally. People simply don't buy tickets unless there is U2 (or other famous "brand") writen on them in big thick letters. I saw Charlie Watts (drummer of the Rolling Stones) with his band 5 times in the past few years. Always less than 500 seats places, always first row, always less than 60 Euro, always an amazing evening. Those places were sometimes not even sold out. When I saw Manzarek and Krieger of The Doors, they played a small club for about 35E!. Also a great gig, also not even a sell out. But print Queen on tickets for May and Taylor show and you will sell out any arena, no problem. I am sure Manzarek and Krieger would do the same, if it said just "The Doors" on the tickets. The same happens with Guns'n'Roses now. The tickets are insanely expensive and the demand is huge. I saw Slash the last year in a small arena (about 4000 people) and again, not even a sell out (tickets were about 55E). As usual - the show was excellent and Myles Kennedy is way better "Axl" than Axl himself right now. But that's unfortunately just the way it works. So back to the topic - based on that I think IF The Edge did a tour, it would probably be mostly clubs, theatres and such (places like the Sistine chapel, you know ), which are really the best places to enjoy music. And I would be there in the first row...

    Edge of Experience, hopefully!
