1. Hi there, I'm new to this downloading thing, although it is definitely a great idea. I'm trying to download the Zoo Tv concert from London. A new tab opens and it lists a load of options from which wire system through - which I don't know which option to choose from - then when it starts downloading you have the choice between saving it on a disk or something else (which should I choose there?).

Also when saving it, do you need to save it as a particular thing? From downloading off youtube you normally need to save as a flash file e.g. zootv.flv - is that required here? I'm trying to get the bootleg onto itunes so any and all help will be most graciously appreciated - thanks!
  2. click download bootleg (or part l) and it will bring you to Rapidshare. Select 'free' from the bottom of the table, you will then have to wait for a minute and when the minute is up you will have to enter the code. You will then get the little 'open' or 'save to' box. Select the 'save to' option and select which folder you want the show to save to then the download will start. When it is complete you then need to go to the folder on your computer which you chose to save to and you will see a little symbol (looks like a stack of books). If you don't already have WinRAR then google it. If you do then right click on the symbol and hit 'extract'. It will then make a regular folder which you can then open and import the songs to itunes from.

    Sounds complicated but it's easy

  4. hey guys, I'm always having trouble after I download the bootleg and put it onto my itunes. It will go into my iPod but once I shut down my computer, then the songs are unreadable. In the iTunes there is a (!) next to the song name and it says "song could not be found...would you like to locate it?" , but there is no way I can locate it....in the past, I just downloaded the bootleg and made a copy of it on CD, but is there anyway else to do it without making a CD and losing the boot?

again as many as you guys know, i'm horrible with technology, so any help is appreciated. thanks.
  5. I'm horrible with iTunes, so I guess we're even. Are you copying them out of the folder, putting them into the iTunes and then moving that folder or renaming the songs?

They obviously still play from your iPod, don't they?

You shouldn't have to make CDs. If iTunes isn't working, how are you getting them on your iPod?

Once you've extracted the WinRAR into your preferred folder (conventionally under iTunes music folder), go into iTunes. Click on File on top left corner and select Add Folder To Library.

It will then allow you to browse.

Select the folder you've put the song files in and it should begin a quick process of storing the bootleg in iTunes. Search for it in your iTunes library, according to how the album was titled by the original source.

Once you've found the bootleg, tidy it up by correctly labelling the songs, album etc according to your preferences. For instance, I label all my bootlegs; U2 - Bootlegs (Artist), Live in Manchester 11/8/2001 (Album), Bullet The Blue Sky (Live at M.E.N. Arena, Manchester 11/8/2001) (Song Title) etc. You do this by right clicking on the actual tracks and selecting 'Get Info'.

iTunes will then alter the files and folder names in your drive for ease of organisation.

I'm not a techo but this method works for me. There are probably several other ways, some of which may be shared in this topic, but this should avoid the difficulties you're having. Basically somethings happening in your iTunes where after importing, the songs have gone into a different destination to the one you selected. It may have something to do with your settings. iTunes can be very annoying that way. If you haven't got your settings right to rein in iTunes influence, it will want to take over all of your media (music, movies) activity.

  7. You can also click and drag from the folder to iTunes and it should go there. Also if there's artwork embedded like in the actual file, those should show up in Flip Flow. That's the one thing you can't stress enough about it - if you don't specify it, then it does things completely weird.
  8. Hey guys thanks for the help , and 'dumbing it down' for me. I think it worked, for now at least. I really appreciate it.
