  3. Losing Touch is awesome but the lyrics make no freakin' sense, just like the rest of Day and Age.

    And whether or not they have some poetic meaning is beyond the point, if the listener doesn't understand than there's a problem.
  4. Battle Born is an amazing opener after WYWY imo, that's a good one-two punch though. That last minute of BB is one of the Killers' finest moments
  5. I don't see BB's greatness as a closer. I mean, it's a fantastic song on itself, but for me the perfect closer has to be a song very well known by the audience (not the case), preferibly with sing-alongs (meh), and some strong guitar-solo or climax.

    When You Were Young has all that features, as do All These Things I've Done, the other closer they've extensively used through the years. Battle Born... Well...

    PS. Agree on Day And Age having mostly no lyrical sense btw

    Well the only other band that might be worth referencing here is U2. Besides 40, generally they play the song on the album they tour that best works as a closer. Love is Blindness, Wake Up Dead Man, Walk On, Moment of Surrender.

  8. In fact, U2 closers usually don't feature those things I've marked as neccesary for a good closer. I never thought U2 had great concert closers, 40 lacks a bit more of guitar work to be a perfect song. WOWY is the only one that has that features, but it's too sad to close a show, and still when they've closed a show with it it's been great. 1989-12-30 - Dublin is probably my fav bootleg ever, and it ends with WOWY

    Anyway, getting way off topic - WYWY is THE closer for The Killers, and it's been like that for years. It works, people love it, the fireworks are awesome, etc. Why change it? Use it on your biggest, most important show ever, get it done, and then close the rest of the shows in your live with Don't Shoot Me Santa Claus if you please. Just close the effin' Wembley show with WYWY hahaha
