1. Same here regarding Sam's Town (the song), although if the selection is purely based on commercial success, I agree that Human, Spaceman, even The Way It Was and Miss Atomic Bomb are above Sam's Town (not to mention the rest of the Sam's Town songs, and of course Hot Fuss).

Nevertheless I don't think this album was neccesary unless they're planning to split up, something I seriously would regret (they too).
  2. They don't even have many hits really. At least here in Australia. Maybe the first five tracks, Human and Runaways. Other than that, I would be highly surprised if any of those tracks ever charted or got played on the radio.

No I think 10 years is fine. I just wish they would have put more songs on there. Even their favorite non-single from each album to beef up the tracklist.

  4. Hot Fuss is my absolute favorite but for some reason I heard shades of it in this, but in a different way if that makes sense? I think it's the synths.

Yeah it could use some beefing up, it looks so short and probably doesn't pass 50 minutes... Shadowplay and Sweet Talk should be up there.
  6. To me a Greatest Hits album tends to appear after a band has been around for a good amount of years, and have had large success throughout those years. The Killers aren't really popular in the sense that not many people outside their already established fanbase will be picking this up, they're not one of those bands that casual people say "Oh I like a bunch of their hits so this is perfect". They're a niche band, and on top of that they haven't even been around for that long or doing this for that long, nor do they have enough music out to warrant a GREATEST hits. This feels more like a Hits or Singles compilation that's coming out for no apparent reason.
  7. I actually think a greatest hits album is the perfect move for The Killers. They've been around for a while and pretty much everyone who's played guitar hero/rockband knows at least one of their songs. I think because The Killers are such a niche band, having a greatest hits album is a good way to consolidate all of their "more popular" material into one album.

This album isn't meant for their fans. I say that because the track list is essentially their festival setlist.
  8. I still think they're one of those bands who you like or you don't, they're not really a stocking stuffer band. Also it comes off as pretentious to have a Greatest Hits after only four proper studio albums.
  9. Coldplay still don't have a greatest hits after five studio albums, sold out stadiums around the world (not just a half full Wembley) and 14 years.

But then again, maybe it's not the Killers doing it. Maybe they owe it to the record company.
  10. love the new single but the omission of Bones from the compilation is a travesty.

I totally agree but It's not as bad as A Perfect Circle. Anyone familiar with them? Anyway, 2 albums and a cover EP, no new music in over 6 years and guess what they're releasing this year? A Fucking Greatest Hits Album. Go figure
