    So other than when Edge states "I used 'this' guitar on 'that' song... it's hard to say what guitar or guitar(s) are on the studio version of any given tune. Good thing is that he does tell some of these anecdotes in some of the guitar magazine interviews.

    Another one that has confused some is "Rattle And Hum". In the movie, Edge is playing his 1960's White Falcon for "Desire". Dallas has said that the version on the album was a Gibson Les Paul Custom.

    Walk on was the LP Custom and the Explorer for the solo. (if memory serves - I'll verify that when I get home. It's in the Jan 2001 Guitar Player)

    Ah fear not, I know that they can use more than one guitar, and you've mentioned Desire and Walk On before. With R&H, they are different takes (the album and the film version - obviously Bono's vocals are different, but you can hear a slight difference in the guitars) so that doesn't surprise me. I just still find it interesting that he doesn't necessarily use the same primary guitars for live versions that he has on album versions of songs, e.g. Beautiful Day.
  2. Maybe it's NOT black. At 1:40-ish in on the video, you see the Explorer from another angle and it looks like it's natural wood.

  5. Per what I've heard Edge say, Beautiful Day is on the Explorer - I think for the whole tune. But it on my list of questions for Dallas and Edge.

  7. Your right, played live Edge uses his Explorer but it was recorded with a LP.




  8. That's what I was inferring when I watched the Eze video, with Edge playing an '83 Goldtop BUT Jeff's mentioned that Edge has been quoted as saying that he recorded most of it (or all) on an Explorer.

    If he cant remember how he played "When I Look At The World", what makes you think he can remember what guitar he played a particular song on?
  10. hmmm, ive heard or believed that he recorded it on a LP, i think its on wikipedia somewhere. only the man himself knows of course, unless he's forgot...

    So...on the basis that he's claimed to not be able to remember how to play something like 2 songs (Ultra-Violet and WILATW) you reckon that he can't remember what he played the majority of them on? If you're not going by what he's reported to have said (true, I don't know where Jeff got his info. but he usually seems to be on the money with his sources etc.), what are you going on? I'm not trying to be awkward for the sake of it, I'm just want to see where you're coming from

    lol, James mate, remember that Wiki. isn't always accurate but yeah, I agree that only those who actually recorded the song are gonna know lol...

    Edge is a human being. Human beings make mistakes.(unless that thing about him being from space was true ) I'm sure we've all remembered things diffrent than they were once in a while.
