Rene' Castro did a good job 'fecking' up the charcoal Clapton. Although the various stickers on Edge's yellow one.... What THE feck? Maybe he wasn't sleeping well, or drinking too much or thinking straight... or maybe just had some excess stickers.

Glad he left the Explorers and the Les Pauls sticker-free lol...otherwise my opinion of him may have lowered I like the Rene Castro Strat....

Yeah... thank God it isn't like James Hetfield's ESP Explorer with a sticker that said "More Beer". That'd be sad!

Yeah, well, it's kinda part of the package with a metal guitarist...not that I'm judgmental or anything!

Distortion out of proportion, as I like to call it.
  6. I read of it before... a magazine (Musician magazine, probably) that said that Edge bought a Dobro (in Nashville) for cheap. Yet I've never seen him play it, heard of him playing it or seen any piccies...

    Until now...

This from the 1988 Woody Guthrie tribute of U2 playing "Jesus Christ":

I've seen and played them. They are fun. Sound cool. Especially great for blues / country and slide playing.

Like I'd mentioned... I remember a brief comment in an article of Edge saying he'd bought one 'cheap' in Nashville. I'm not 100% certain that the one in the picture is the one that Edge mentioned but there is a good chance.

Wouldn't mind owning one, one day.

There are many things I wouldn't mind owning lol, must be said. A dobro would be very cool to learn

Mandolin too! Especially as Edge was messing with one in the recent recordings. Be cool to hear if that ends up on the new album. And if it's more traditional mandolin playing or Edge-ified delay-laden plush atmospheric mandolin.

Yea, the mandolin was a major instrument on the Who's Endless Wire...... didnt turn out too good.
  12. Here's "Reggie" with his Ovation mandolin (or maybe Danny Lanois') whilst they were in Fez, Morocco.

Moght be a Ovation Celebrity MCS148 Acoustic-Electric Mandolin. Not 100% sure. It is definitely an Ovation (brand)
