    And WHO was the soundman on the Monster tour (And REM's 1999 UP tour)? One Joe O'Herlihy of U2 fame.
  3. I have to confess it. I don't have ANY bootleg of REM! I only own the 2005-05-24 Dublin show, which I got it on the eMule... Otherwise, my REM shows would be zero... Maybe you can recommend me some good ones, specially from the post-1992 era (for example, U2-ish related I'd recommend1993-08-28 Dublin, 1993-11-27 Sydney, 1997-07-18 Rotterdam... Can you do that for REM??) ? Thanks!!

    How can the layman (us) get this? The Line 6 Verbzilla set to the 'Octo' setting is a cheap and effective way to achieve this tone.

    Digitech IPS 33b is a nice rack harmonizer that works well for this tone.

    Edge uses an Eventide harmonizer.

    Fernandes Retro Rocket w/sustainer pick-up in the neck position.

    The sustainer pickup works similar to the original 'infinite guitar' that Michael Brooks developed.

    Edge used his original infinite guitar for The Joshua Tree through Zoo TV tour.

    By Zooropa, as seen on the Sydney DVD, he began using a Les Paul with an E-bow for With Or Without You.

    Since Popmart Edge has used various Fernandes (brand) guitars with Sustainer pickups.
    Popmart "Decade Elite" w/sustainer. He had on sea foam and one orange.
    Elevation "Native Pro" w/sustainer. Metallic green finish.
    Vertigo Tour. Retro Rocket w/sustainer. Blackfinish, which ISN"T a stock colour for the Retro Rocket.

  11. Man I love the sound and the look of those decades. I love the tone he got for discotheque on that tour, and how versitile it was going from a song like Disco to WOWY. I'll have to look into one of those for a future purchace

    EDIT: Do they not make the decade anymore? I might just get a crappy guitar and put in the sustainer kit. Might be more reasonable.
  12. I bought a '97 Native off eBay about a year ago. Seller neglected to mention that he was a heavy smoker , that the guitar wouldn't operate unless there was a 9V battery connected to the sustainer and that the bridge is unstable to the point that no string on the guitar ever stays in tune. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

    To my knowledge most guitar shops don't carry them. I'd check one out IN A STORE before buying one from the internet...or at least make sure the seller is recommended to avoid making the mistake I did. In this economy I could really use that $300 now.......
