1. Yeah, don't bother

Only joking mate, it's not a song I've spent much time looking into so I can't be of much help at the moment.
  2. Just looking at a picture I've got of Edge playing his Explorer at a ZooTV/Zooropa concert, not sure which in particular, it's been used on a couple of bootleg covers I think BUT anyway, that's not actually of any particular note. Basically, it shows him playing an F# bar chord or an F (if it was tuned down half a step obviously), and the only song I know that he played the Explorer on during that period was Ultra Violet, which as far as I am aware doesn't use F# (or, again, F if tuned down half a step). Does anyone know if Edge played the Explorer on more than just Ultra Violet during ZooTV, or have I just got Ultra Violet worked out wrongly and am thus being thick lol? The main song that comes to mind off the top of my head as using F#/F bar chord is Mysterious Ways during the middle 8-ish part, and I had always figured that it was a signature Rick. song...

From all of the video I've seen and the shows I attended during the Zoo tours, The Edge only used the Explorer for "UltraViolet (Light My Way)" during the Zoo tours (1992-1993).

What picture are you refering to?

Indeed, UltraViolet was one of the few songs in which Edge used the Explorer during the Zoo TV era... I agree, may you upload the picture?

Indeed, like I said I thought it was the only song lol!

What about the few times I Will Follow was played? I never seen a picture of that, but I guess he used the Explorer (what else? )

Acoustic. That was always part of the acoustic set, and if you listen it's pretty audible - not to mention they didn't bother with Edge's harmonics part, probably (I'm guessing) because harmonics don't come out as well as they do through pickups.
  8. Perhaps the picture was taken at a sound check, and he was just messing around with a few things. Other than that, he had no reason to play an F# on the Explorer lol. I don't know, I could be (probably am) wrong.

Looks to be an F (if it is truly barred at the 2nd fret. Could be the angle of the photo... if it's the 3rd fret, it's a G)

Not sure of the show. I know it pissed down raining during Desire... continued during the rest of the show... at the opening night of Zooropa. I was there and I'm STILL drying out from that rain!

I will have to double check a few things to be sure it it was from that show or not.

  10. I guess we're assuming in the former case it's tuned half a step down, and in the latter it's standard? But yeah, either way, interested to know what he was actually playing, because I can't see how it could be Ultra Violet, but hey ho. Oh the shenanigans that occur as a result of an innocent question

Ha, yeah, it does look a bit soggy. Doesn't beat how wet it was when I went up to Scotland to see my 2nd favourite band Runrig play at Borlum Farm near Loch Ness, we got to the venue at 1pm (it was a mini-festival hosted by Runrig who subsequently headlined) and didn't leave till about 11:30pm (never mind getting out of the carpark at half 1 in the bloody morning), and it rained non-stop all bloody day. No joke. I've just watched the DVD of the event (by the by, to keep it on topic kinda, you'll never someone wield a Fender quite so well as Malcolm Jones. Seriously) and the memories came flooding back. Kinda like the rain. The ground had pretty much turned into the Somme by the end of the night...
