A boy from the UK sporting Canadian Hockey Hair? A regulation Kentucky Waterfall? Or just going for that "Vintage Bono" look? Mighty brave of you. Mighty brave. Bono would be proud.

    (Just messing with you)
  2. Yeah, ROCK THE MULLET was a bit 'legendary'. We'd play the stuff like we truly meant it... full on back to back swaying and strumming and singing and heartfelt... but yeah, we were taking the piss.

Funny thing is one dude came up and said, "that almost brought tears to my eyes". I said: "From laughter?" He said: "That last song just meant so much to me". This coming from a 45 year old dude. What song meant so much? "17" by Winger! I recommended a probation officer that he will assuredly need for the "jailbait" charge he will incur, if "17" means THAT much to him.

So where is that guy now? I dunno... probably on a sex offender list.

Hey Nate. Yep, true story. The guy was literally misty eyed. I didn't know whether to laugh, hand him a tissue or call security.

Now that is some serious hair! It's like a photo negative of Adam's October era curls. Can you stand there all cool with a bass guitar?

lol. Electric, kinda, but not bass. I'm more built like a rugby player so I can't really stand and look cool in any situation, but I try my best. Somewhere there's some pics of me playing guitar at my mate's birthday bash, we did a mini U2 set...I was melting lol. Kinda looked the part though...

...although if you wanted to be puritanical, I was playing UTEOTW on my Strat. copy...so not the complete part lol. Trying to remember all the songs we did play...we played some funny thing my mate had written for his band, The Fly, UTEOTW, *something else* and then WOWY as a finale on his Epi. Les Paul...

EDIT - I also played One on the Strat.

I had the LP tuned down a whole step because he could reach the high notes in C

He was thinking we could do RTSS (there was a keyboard to hand), but we hadn't rehearsed it and I had no idea whether he could sing in Db; he had also suggested Love Is Blindness but I haven't got the guitar part perfected PLUS I can never get the solo right AND no one else knew how to play it and I'm a shit teacher lol; we could have done AIWIY but he forget until too late.
  10. This one is my favorite of Edge's guitars. Looks cool and feck.

Used for "Desire" and "The Fly" during the Zoo tours and seen in the "Wild Irish Rose" video...

...studio use? Uncertain but there are pictures in the AB CD booklet and AB era related studio shots of Edge playing this guitar... So I'd assume it's on the album for at least one tune (or more)
  11. Maybe the fly?

It's certainly possible. Also possible as the 'studio' pictures were mostly from Hansa, that it was used on many things from the Salome' sessions - things that were aborted or later redone.

Maybe it's on Lady With The Spinning Head? Maybe "Where Did It All Go Wrong"... another question to ask Dallas or The Edge... when ever it is that I might next see them.

I do remember an interview with Dallas... from just after the release of Passengers... and his mentioning what a great guitar this guitar is (the Clapton) and that he was going to bring it in for The Edge for the "new" (at the time) recordings (of what later became Pop).

So maybe.... maybe it is on some of Pop?

Again... just another question for the ever-growing list.
