1. And to beat a dead horse, I have a EA20 like the one in the second piccy posted.

    And here is mine:

  2. It's like Jello, there is always room for e-bow!

I use it lots - even if buried a bit in the mix - when recording my own music. And if you press down a bit to ward and the underside strikes the string, and you pull off a bit... it sounds like electronic seagulls or something. Pretty cool.
  3. I've used an Ebow a lot of times in our church network worship band when improvising over a mellow or atmospheric song. But just last week I used it for a recording which I've never done before - turned out really well. It's definitely one of the coolest guitar effects I know. I like to use it with a small slide. Sometimes I add a ton of other effects (vibe, trem, delay) on top of it which makes it very spacey.

  4. An eBow is one of the next things on my list of things/guitars to get, along with a pedal or two etc. - I love really working up the sustain on my Les Paul (using the rhythm pickup usually) and getting some pretty killer sounds out of it, but you can only make it last so long. An eBow would pretty much solve that. Not to mention it would only fetch about £60, which seems fairly reasonable to me...

Indeed - adding a bit of chorus, delay and/or reverb makes an e-bow sound great.
  6. ...and an ebow, with a Verbzilla for shimmer or ever just reverb but adding a Digitech WH-1 Whammy pedal... and one gets a lovely "With Or Without You" type tone.

    Good times.

I have used the Ebow with shimmer only once - but it sounded great. I have yet to try it with a pitchshifter but I anticipate some tracking problems.

One question: has Edge used his black/black (completely black) Strat since the Joshua Tree era? Last time I saw it was on th third leg of that tour...

Streets during Vertigo? I was under the impression that it's had a lot of work done to it since the late '80s, i.e. new scratchplates and the like...
