One question: has Edge used his black/black (completely black) Strat since the Joshua Tree era? Last time I saw it was on th third leg of that tour...

Streets during Vertigo? I was under the impression that it's had a lot of work done to it since the late '80s, i.e. new scratchplates and the like...

What what I've heard... The one from Vertigo tour was not the one from the early days (Joshua Tree and before).

In that, I've heard the all black Strat from Vertigo is actually a Strat that was once black and white, on previous tours but with some parts swapped out from white to black.

The use of the all black 1979 Stratocaster diminished during the 3rd leg of The Joshua Tree tour.

He did use it for Pride in Syracuse:

and Pride in Boston from the third leg:

Although he also used a black and white Strat for Pride duing the 3rd leg (R&H)

More of the all black Strat during the 3rd leg?

Spanish Eyes in NY during the third leg...

...and he might have used it a few other places... but I think that Edge had virtually retired the original black / black Stratocaster before the third leg - in favor of the all black Danvel/Nelson Stratocaster (see: "...Streets..." on 'Rattle And Hum')

Streets from the LA shows from November 1987 (Used for Streets most if not all of the 3rd leg)

    Streets from R&H:

Trip Through Your Wires - Syracuse - Third Leg:

New Years Day - Leg 3:

The Danvel/Nelson Strat later losing out the the yellow, red and charcoal Clapton Stratocasters during the Love Town tour.

  5. I know that it's got nothing to do with guitars... but until just now I have never realised how amazingly long Edge's hair was. I can't remember having ever seen him without ponytail.

Ahha yes. Then all of a sudden it all fell out! Poor guy. The beanies look cool though....

  8. And yet, minus the hair but plus wit, charm and talent... he attracted the lovely Morleigh! Nice one, The Edge!
  9. And there I was thinking this was a thread about guitars lol...

  10. Exactly. Less hair = beautiful dancer? Who'da thunk it?

  11. No wonder I'm still to strike gold on the ladies' front lol...
