With Audacity, you can change the pitch of an audio file

  2. Yea but then Bono sounds like he sucked back a tank of helium.

  3. Oh, I forgot you were talking about the one with vocals. It's hilarious to hear him sing like that though lol

  4. Interesting that, bar that one shoot where Edge was photographed with one of his Les Pauls, most (if not all) of the shots we've had in recent times have seen him playing hollow-bodies etc. I mean, he's playing a Rick. in the Fez picture (with the WOWY Fernandes in the background), and in the Olympic shot he's playing the Casino and then what looks to be a Gretsch-y type thing on a stand (although I'm glad to see the Explorer close at hand), aswell as something in the far left-hand side which I can't identify. Also interesting to see Bono actually playing guitar lol!

Yep there is a Gretsch Country Gentleman...

There also appears to be a Gibson RD (not sure if it's the Artist, Custom or Standard).
Info on the RD - http://www.vintageguitars.org.uk/RD.php

Now Adam did have an RD Artist bass, seen as early as teh Hansa sessions. But you can see by comparing the Olympic studio guitar to the Hansa studio bass pic that they are not the same guitar/bass.

But as it is on Edge's side of the 'turf' and as Adam seems to have all of his toys on his side... Maybe Edge bought and RD guitar for himself. It will be interesting to find out more on that.
  6. Looks like Larry is using the same Ludwig [black oyster finish] drum kit seen in the Father Christmas video.

Could it be... LARRY of all people 'changing' something? No Yamaha drums after 27 years?

  7. That RD looks like one odd piece of kit, kinda like a blend of an SG, a Les Paul and a Firebird...strangeness. I love the fact that they even rehearse in the same way as they same up on stage lol, i.e. Edge to the right of the diamond, Larry at the back, Adam on the left and Bono leading the way up front.

Glad to see Edge has a Marshall head. Wonder what that preamp is sent to. And what's that preamp-y looking thing on top of the Marshall, left of the Fender?

And a curious question that's been nagging me: is the Gretsch Irish Falcon hollowbody or semi-hollowbody?

  9. Fairly sure it's semi-hollow, but I'm no authority on the matter
  10. Pretty sure it's semi and has a soundblock in the middle, where the pickups are mounted... Like a Gibson ES335.

But I will do some research to be sure.

Wonder if Edge will bring out the White Falcon (seen in the u2.com clips) this tour? That'd rock!

It's not the 1962 stereo one from the Pride video. I think that one might have also met it's demise in the flood.

Never the less, the new one is pretty cool.

Agree about the White Falcon - I just hope that it is the case that Edge is unleashing the power of the semi/hollow-bodied guitars back on the music world, kinda like drawing back on the traditions of guitarring but moving it into a new stage of the band's career, if that makes any sense. I mean, as I said earlier, the small amount of material we've actually seen has shown him mostly playing Ricks etc. (bar that clip of him using an eBow on one of his LPs) inc. the Father Christmas cover...maybe I'm just being slightly nostalgic lol.
