If I can learn - and I have - you can learn.

Jump on in, the water's fine! Join in the guitar fun! Or bass fun. Or drumming fun....

  2. No. He has used one in the studio but I've not seen him using one lately.

It's the same with the HiWatt amps. He's had HiWatt amps in the BD video and used them in the studio too but I've not seen him take them on tour.

A little question here. My dad's friend showed me yesterday a PC programme called Guitar Pro 5. A lot of useful things, plenty of songs in the songbook. How should I understand the numbers on tabs?

The line shows you what string. The number shows what fret. Top string on the chord chart / tablature is the high (small) E string.

Example: THIS would be an A chord

    e:----x----
    b:----2----
    g:----2----
    d:----2----
    a:----x----
    E:----x---

At the rooftop concert, looked like Edge was using the Tele 72 RI he had in the Vertigo video for Boots, Vertigo, and Magnificent...nice!

Also: We can see Adam's new cabs, but where is the amp head? Backstage? Like Bono's effect chain?

Yep, that was the Fender Telecaster Custom.

Edge's appears to be a 1972 original (or at least from the 1970's era) and not a 'reissue' (RI).

Lovely guitar. Wonder if he will take it on tour and use it more? Hmmm...
  5. Gear for Monday's show: David Letterman: "Breathe" (song aired)

    * The Edge - 1962 Epiphone Casino.

    * Adam Clayton - white Fender Precision bass with tortoise shell pickguard.

    * Larry Mullen Jr. - Using the silver sparkle Yamaha kit.

Similar to the kit used at the "We Are One show but instead of being a hydrid of Oak Custom and Absolute MapleThe silver kit was actually a bit of a hybrid.

    - Oak Custom (24") bass drum
    - Oak Custom (16") floor tom
    - Absolute Maple (14") rack tom

At Letterman, the drums were all Oak Custom (rack tom included)

  6. Gear for 2nd taping, to be aired on Friday night's show: David Letterman: "Get On Your Boots" (song aired)

    * The Edge - 1966 Fender Telecaster (blonde finish)

    * Adam Clayton - Epiphone Rivoli (natural finish)

    * Larry Mullen Jr. - Using a silver sparkle Yamaha Oak Custom kit.

  7. After all... it IS all about the DRUMS.

The above pic obviously being from the Wash DC show.
  8. You gotta love Edge's tone for the riff of Breathe (The one during the "Breeeeeeathe". Very cool tone coming from that casino.

Well, thursday is the day I'm going to buy my American Strat. They don't have a black with maple neck model in the store, so I have to order it through them. Can't wait!!!

  9. Yeah, the growl of that D-A-B riff, then the piano-like sound during the chorus. Amazing! Anybody know what kinda effect that is?
  10. Me thinks that effect is similar to that on Magnificent and quite possiblly from the E-H POG.

WHICH, by the way, I just got one on E-Bay for a good price - $234.00

They are 320-330 on Musicians Friend and the like. And that plus tax at Sam Ash and Guitar Center. So looks like I save a big chunk of money.

(I can use the saving to go on a DBA Supersonic Fuzz Gun!)

    Hi Jeffrey,

The rig Adam is using in those shots is a DB 750 amplifier with a DB 410 cabinet and a DB 115 cabinet (both cabinets in Classic Black). We appreciate you adding the links. They are as follows:

I have not heard what equipment they will be using for the upcoming tour. If you check back in a couple of weeks I should have more info.

Please let me know if there is anything else that we can help you with.
