    While The Edge has two refrigerator sized racks full of effects and goodies, Bono has an assortment of toys too. The fact that there is some amount of thought to this shows that Bono does actually play a bit of guitar. Sure he's no The Edge but he's far better than most give him credit.

    T'is a bit odd that Bono was travelling with FOUR Gretsch Irish Falcons and TWO Gigson Elvis Presley Doves, being that he played less guitar on Vertigo than he had since... probably before The Joshua Tree tour.

  10. Besides, the 'puns' weren't the point. The showing of some of Bono's instruments and effects were the point.
  11. If I were going for puns I'd have referred to a nice pair of "Birds", as both guitars are named after birds (Falcon and Dove)

    Seems Gretsch has changed the finish of the Irish Falcon from it's initial "Everygreen" finish to the darker, and in my view more pleasant, Cadillac Green... similar to the colour of Bono's 1959 Gretsch Country Club - which was his main Elevation electric before the arrival of the Irish Falcons.

  12. The puns are not lost on me Jeff, a little too much along the lines of the uncle at a wedding's type of humour but still, your energies are not entirely wasted!

    Nice pics of Bono's kit - I wouldn't want an Irish Falcon myself BUT you can't deny they're charismatic guitars in their own right.
