Originally posted by LikeASong:Indeed, you actually can play... but only if you play pressing frets or barring chords; open strings won't work (obviously). For example, if you try to play Pride or I Will Follow (Eb tuning) with a E tuned guitar, you won't be able, since you must play the first string open, and it won't sound right (that will be a E instead of a Eb).
Anyway, tuning down half step and later retuning to E isn't that complicated
PS. I hate it, though!!! I never tune down since I rarely play with backing tracks or any reference sounds, so I can play in the key I want
Thanks, it's just that this TTTYAATW tab says I should tune down half a step (i'm only playing the verse riffs atm, not the chords).
So is it just tuned down half a step to be in key with Bono when he's singing live? Or is it intended to be performed half a step down?
PS: There's a sort of tarnish? on my pick up covers and bridge, what can i use to clean it without removing the gold plating?
