- Actually you are wrong. He's always incorporated the new effects in to some of the older songs.
- As far back as ZOO TV, he even experimented with the Whammy WH-1 during "Bad".
- The Sobbat appeared during Elevation tour but began getting used on older songs, like UTEOTW by the Vertigo tour.
- The Harmonic Transformer came into the Edge's arsenal during UV.

- Listen to the bootlegs, tour by tour... there are differences in the guitars tones. Those differences are between different effects settings and combinations, as well as adding and subtracting gear.
- Guitarwise things have changed from tour to tour. Tele's for SBS for Elevation and Vertigo have changed to a Strat - although a different make, model and with different character to his old black Strat.
- The Line 6 Variax 700's employed during Vertigo tour were not only used for a newer song but The Edge used one to re-work/re-imagine "The Fly".
- Acoustic guitars have changed, almost every tour. Each offering a different tonality and fee. From the more synthetic sound of the Lawrence pickup loaded Washburn in the early days to the more vintage look and feel of the Gibson Jumbos used on the last two tours.
- Stuck In A Moment itselt went from electric to an acoustic version in an alternate tuning. Different gear, used differently, tune re-imagined. Proof is in the pudding.
- I never said that he changed out all gear each tour. But he does change gear. He does reimagine how he uses the older gear. And he does constantly experiment with gear.
- Even during tours things get swapped out. He took out the Ampeg Scrambler and added the Durham Sex Drive during the 3rd leg of Vertigo tour, for example.
- So what is in the rack on show # 1, isn't always how things end on the end of the tour.
Just saying, it might not be as night and day as you might like but the idea that he doesn't does not hold water. Edge is constantly changing out.
Perhaps we will have to agree to disagree but I challenge you to look around, listen and you will see that while not sweeping change - there is a far greater change in gear and approach than you have given credit.
You are quite right about all of the things you said, however, like you said, it's not night and day. If you look at how much his sound changed from JT to AB, even on older songs, like you mentioned the WH-1 on Bad, then there was the tremolo/noise gate on still haven't found, it was a lot bigger of a change back then. Even going from Zoo to Pop was a big change, look at streets, they added an almost remixed ending, added a phaser on I will follow, and SBS was TOTALLY differet on that tour. Those to me are night and day as far as sounds go. All i'm saying is, from vertigo to 360, there isn't that much of a change. The ones you mentioned are true, but they're subtle enough that the average listener won't notice a difference, while the average listener would notice a difference in the ones i mentioned (i hope). And the acoustic sounds aren't THAT different to me, to me an acoustic is an acoustic, that's about as far as they go for me. The Variax however, was a very nice touch. But I wouldn't go as far to say they "re-imagined" the song, it was basically the zootv version reworked a bit. The elevation tour version would be what I'd call a "re-imagination" and even that is saying a lot.
