1. My mom totally ruined Christmas for me this year (but I'm absolutely fine with it ). Here is the new gear that I will get:
Casio LK 270 Keyboard (my first! )
Digitech RP250 (my current processor on steroids)
Wine Red Epiphone Les Paul Special II

We picked up the Epi just a few hours ago... I'm going to wait until Christmas to play it though. I love it already, just looking at it.
  2. Wait. Do you really mean that you're getting this beauty for Xmas?

Lucky you. I love that guitar, and that colour Really, really gorgeous
  3. HI guys,

Quick question on guitar tabs...has anyone bought what looks like the official guitar tab books?? I am trying to play BD from the "best of" book and the chords just dont sound right!!!
    or is it just me???

Anyone got any ideas if these books are any good??

  4. No no, I have this:

It's a very beautiful guitar, it has renewed my desire to play... even though I have only played it once, acoustically.

I have always heard they are terrible, so the one you have is probably with the wrong chords.
  6. Does anyone know the chords for "Acrobat" that Bono plays in the acoustic versions from "The Complete Hershey Tapes" when this was rehearsed before opening night of ZooTV Leg 3?? I've been listening to this version lately, and I think it would be cool to arrange for just an acoustic guitar & vocal part, but I can't figure out the chords for the life of me.

Nevermind...I think I've found them...I may try to cover this and do a few overdubs with some cool electric effects fading in and out, so keep your eye out for it

    Try this:

    "Acrobat"
    -------

    Found this on - http://www.u2station.com/tablature/guitar-tablature/acrobat.php

    Intro: Em7 Am

    Am G Fmaj7 Em/D
Don't believe what you hear, don't believe what you see
    Am G Fmaj7 Em/D
If you just close your eyes you can feel the enemy

When I first met you girl, you had fire in your soul
What happened your face of melting snow?

    C
    Now it looks like this
    Am7
and you can swallow or you can spit
    F G
You can throw it up or choke on it

And you can dream, so dream out loud
    F G Am7
You know that your time is coming 'round
    F G Am
... Don't let the bastards grind you down

No nothing makes sense, nothing seems to fit
I know you'd hit out if you only knew who to hit
And I'd join the movement if there was one I could believe in
Yeah I'd break bread and wine if there was a church I could receive in

    'Cos I need it now
To take the cup, to fill it up
To drink it slow, I can't let you go
And I must be an Acrobat to talk like this and act like that
And you can dream, so dream out loud
... Don't let the bastards grind you down

What are we going to do now it's all been said?
No new ideas in the house, and every book has been read

And I must be an acrobat
To talk like this and act like that
And you can dream, so dream out loud
And you can find your own way out
You can build and I can will
And you can call I can't wait until
You can stash and you can seize
    In dreams begin responsibilities
And I can love, and I can love
I know that the tide is turning 'round
...Don't let the bastards grind you down

    CHORD FORMATIONS
    ----------------
    Am7 x 0 2 0 1 0

    Em/D 0 2 0 0 0 0

  9. Em/D??? that is wrong!!
    It should be Em7.

  10. It can even be a E major, it fits and sounds perfectly right. I always play it like E major (as I do in Staring At The Sun, with the exact same chords).
  11. I have never played this song, I was just saying that the chord is an Em7 based on the "chord formation" at the end of the "chords+lyrics" part of the post.
