I get what you say, but I still think that the individual units are better.
I really like to do things the old fashioned way, so having a single processor doesn't really come as "genuine" for me. Also, the individual units sound much better, which I think that is what matters, for me at least.
I can perfectly understand why someone would get a multi effects though.
the individual effects ARE better, as you say, simply because the multi-fx only "model" or "simulate" what the original does. However some of them can come extremely close. Take a look at our Guitar Hero, his rack is full of multi-fx, he only has about 10 individual effects in his whole rig.
