Play an open G, and tune it to when it says it's in tune on the M13, then play the G string on the 12th fret, which is the same note, just an octave higher. If it says it's out of tune, than the intonation is off. If it says it's in tune, then I don't know what's up lol. Could be your ears playing tricks on you, could be a dead string (shouldn't effect tune though), but yeah. that's weird.

Yeah, I checked all that, all the other strings are fine, and the intonation on the G string is only very slightly off.

However the bridge saddle for the G string (and only the G-string) is nearly all the way back and can't be turned much more, so maybe it has something to do with that. Also part of the wound string is sticking out of the string cover, i'll try and take a pic of it.

My brother says it's normal, but i'm not quite sure, I was trying to record it using my phone but the recording isn't clear enough.

It seems almost like the string sounds correctly and then the trail off has almost like a buzz or vibrato aspect to it.
  2. Man when is the Edge signature coming out? Let's have a poll! If Edge made a signature guitar, what should it be?

Gibson Explorer Limited Edition 1976 Reissue (natural)
GIbson Les Paul Custom (Cream Coloured)
Fender Stratocaster (70's style headstock and all, black on black, or white on black)

Am I forgetting any other of his most used guitars? I think those three are the ones he's used since the beginning, and should be considered HIS guitars.
  3. The Explorer is the one who everybody associates with Edge and U2 in general.

For me, a Edge signature Blackie Strat would be ultimate... But actually I would prefer the Explorer. It means so much. . . .
  4. Thge explorer would make much more sense, but I would prefer the les paul. They sound so much better than the explorers. Don't kill me, just my opinion.

I'm going with the Explorer. 'Nuff said, so to speak.

I doubt we'll ever see a genuine sig. guitar though, just my tuppence worth. I don't see Edge being that bothered, judging by stuff I've read and speculation, but that doesn't mean it won't happen, clearly!

    Death!

I disagree, but there's my opinion too - I love the definition of the Explorer's tone, just feels more [something] than LPs. It has something different to it, although I can't quite put it into words.
  6. IIRC The Explorer has a brighter tone than the Les Paul, which suits the Edge's style better. The much 'edgier' design of the Explorer also suits him compared to the the conservative Les Paul.

What I love about the Explorer is the way it's design is modern and different while at the same time elegant, unlike the Flying V which screams 80s hair band.
  7. Aren't they lovely??

    eBay search.

I'm thinking of buying one or two packs... If they only could combine one pick of each colour
  8. What about this???

    hahaha
  9. Those picks are cool, but if you want the real thing order some Blue Herdims, that's what the edge himself uses. Garunteed he doesn't even use those signed ones.
