i like this idea, but even they will will eventually get to 50+ pages in length and it will be hard to go back and find things, it would be great to be able to have like a Tab/effect page with a list of the songs and u can just pick the song u want, and it comes up with all of our attempts at tabs and effect suggestions.

If you look back on this topic, when it was started almost 3 years ago... Lots and lots of interesting stuff about effects and tone etc etc was posted.

Also Matt (AnStratDubh) knows a fucking lot about all of that.

    BTW - Anstratdubh's name isn't Matt, it's Jeff.

Yeah but they've gone down the Les Paul Custom route for Slash already, namely, and I feel like I'm forgetting another artist that had a Les Paul commemorated after him. Possibly Jimmy Page?

I think releasing an Edge Explorer almost "re-introduces" the guitar, opens up its market again, and potentially increases the popularity.

In this market they (Gibson) will want to sell something that they can guarantee to make money on.

In that case, they've already found that Les Paul artist signature guitars can make them money and appeal to collectors and players alike

The Exploer idea isn't a bad idea but Gibson, having already cloned Edge's Les Paul... chances are that that would be the one they would go with.
  4. Oh, man, I've mistaken you with the 2 Matts I talk to usually. Of course you're called Jeff, and the worst part of it is that I knew it... Soooorrry

Maybe for tabs, instead of posting in forums, we could start a list somewhere else on the site like for bootlegs or youtube clips. I think this would definitely distinguish this site from other u2 sites as well....

yup, this site is already the best, having a tabs area would just put it that much further in front of the rest
  7. I think that introducing a brand new feature, whether it's inside the forums or as a separate whole in the U2start web, is not useful given that we the guitar/bass players and/or interested people are... what? 15? 20 maximum. U2start has 40'000 members, we can't design a whole new feature just thinking in ourselves (unfortunately )...

Nevertheless I will ask Remy how he sees that. I agree that having a Guitar-dedicated area could improve much our whole U2 experience compared to other boards
  8. I think thats a great idea! Im taking the semester off so I could totally post some more tutorials.

  9. LOL, I remember reading that and thinking, isn't his name Jeff?
But thought a mod would know better.

And I don't think we need a guitar focused section of the site.
It's not really the point of U2start, there are other fansites that'll do that better

Like the U2sound-forum, which I'm a proud member of
