I know Scott. It is the look and the sound. If it sounded shit, he wouldn't spend the money. You on the other hand DONT know Scott and are making judgement base on what? Jealousy? Or to just pass judgement?
I agree that most of what Adam plays can be done with a Precision and/or Jazz bass. But he's choosen to add other colors to his sound, particularly during this tour. There are a number of new (newly seen on tour) bass guitars on the U2:360 tour.
That said, there is nothing wrong for one that plays in a tribute to get similar or the same tools to get similar to the same sounds. Just seems you want to talk down the purchase or berate him for making it.
That is just odd.
