    The speaker is an old JBL, half of a PA setup my uncle was throwing away. One speaker blew out, he gave me the other. We're routing it right now, Mic->Amp->JBL, and the amp simply wont turn up loud enough to really boost through the JBL speaker. We're getting sound, it's just not much better than the amp's. The amp is a little tiny 15 or 20 watt amp. All of us have 75s or 90s, for the guitars. Mucccch louder.

  4. So first there were a few variations of a Reverse Stryker that finalized with the release of the Warwick Adam Clayton Reverso bass.

    Then Warwick made Adam a gold sparkle Streamer Stage II (seen at the Brandenburg Gate show)

    ...And now... Warwick Adam Clayton Custom Shop Star Bass II (in gold finish).

    My guess is that this might take the place of the vintage gold finish Gibson Les Paul Signature that Adam has been using for U2: 360 performances of "Mysterious Ways". Time will tell for certain. And as the tour is 3 weeks away...

  5. Hmmmm now we are talking!
    I don't know about the sound, but at least this one looks good and classy.
    My guess is that it sounds very bassy and muddy. Great!

    I also do think that it must produce some warm and comfortable tones, I hope he uses it on the next legs of the tour! And great that he has his own new model

  9. I agree with the color part lol. I know what they were going for, but they failed. A shinier silver color would be really cool.

    Yamaha PSR-E423

    This is the newest thing on the market, it was released only earlier this month. Hell yes.

    - 700 voices / sounds
    - 150 arpeggio patterns on 40 voices
    - Pitch bend wheel
    - 4X more flash memory than the rest of it's class: standard (16MB Wave)
    - 64 note polyphony


    I also grabbed a nice little M-Audio SP-2 sustain pedal and a stand for about $20 each.


    Okay, showing off is complete. I've just placed the order now (musiciansfriend.com), so I'm expecting it by about this time next week. Ahhh!


    I also purchased a mic stand pic holder for $4. I'm going to look so professional.
  11. If i ever wanted to play a second instrument it'd be piano, nice buy Nick. Did you teach yourself to play? 'm sort of hesitant to buy a keyboard and teach myself, I mean I taught myself guitar (I took acoustic lessons when I was 12, do those count?) and I'd say I'm fairly good But to me piano seems like a whole different ball game. What do you say?

    Yes, I started playing this past Christmas. I haven't had any lessons, all I've done is print out a little chord sheet that shows you how to play chords. The rest is easy... just, sort of... let it happen, I guess. I would definitely suggest buying a simple starter keyboard, you will not believe the sounds that you create. (here is a really well priced suggestion)

    I had guitar lessons when I was 13, but only for a little less than a year. It is a different ball game, but as long as you intend to win, you're golden. (quote of the week from myself lol)
