1. I think it's the same as always, maybe a white finish 1973 Custom with black knobs?

  2. No I don't think its the usual one
  3. By the way, great dicussion (and full of U2 non-lovers, even U2 haters) about the non-ending theme of "Why does Edge use so many guitars" goes on here:
    http://www.tdpri.com/forum/bad-dog-cafe/173499-edge-does-matter-guitar.html

    I love this particular quote:
And also, if you own a collection of delicious guitars and there is someone to tune them and hand them to you one after the other wouldn't you take advantage of it just to play them?
    I would.
    hahaha
  4. hey guys just uploaded my first cover on youtube, did a cover of Vertigo

  5. Pretty good mate Like the sound off that guitar, nice and full. Maybe during the "All of this.." parts, try hammering on instead of sliding? Just an idea Good job

    cheers mate, thanks for watching
yeh i dunt like that part either, normally i play power chords to match adams bass riff, prob shoulda done that.

  7. He, nicely done man! I've always been crap while playing the ending of the song...I think this helps me to figure that out.

Just one thing, try to play just a tiny bit slower, don't hasten through the main riff etc....try to tab along with Larry.

I'm telling you this because I've always had the same problem myself

  8. 2005 Gibson Les Paul Music Rising in mardi gras finish.

You can see the different hues of the mardi gras finish at around 5 mins into the video below.

  9. I have one of these on the way:

Fernandes Retro Rocket Elite. Should be delivered on Thursday. Nice!!

  10. Nice nice, what are you going to use it for? I know some tribute guys that only use it for With Or WIthout You, but I think it'd be great for things like feedback during a solo or something, very cool tech, I think Edge has only scratched the surface on that one.

Edge has used a few Fernandes guitars (Decade Elite's during Popmart, Native Pro during Elevation, RetroRocket Elite's during Vertigo and 360 tours.)

    U2 Fernandes use?
Popmart tour: Discotheque, If You Wear That Velvet Dress, With Or Without You
Elevation tour: Discotheque, Staring At The Sun, With Or Without You
Vertigo tour: With Or Without You
U2 360 tour: UltraViolet (Light My Way), With Or Without You.

Which used the sustainer pickup? WOWY and UV. And I'm pretty sure that Velvet Dress distorted intro is sustainer. And as it's been used for Discotheque during Popmart and Elevation performances of the tune... I'd think it might be in there somewhere too (in a less obvious way?).

That said, I will use it for non-U2 stuff. I have a few tunes I wrote that the sustainer p'up will be useful. Plus just as another guitar in the collection to use. I will probably try to find some other U2 uses, as a second Strat-like guitar. Perhaps for things that Edge used the Danvel Nelson and Clapton Strats for (Streets, I Will Follow, God Part II, All Along the Watchtower)... as the Fernandes has "Hot Rail" pickups, which should fall near similar sonic territory as the Danvel Nelson and Clapton Strat (when using the Clapton's boost).

Time and experimentation will tell for sure. But if the question is "did I get it to JUST play "With or Without You" the answer is no.
