1. UPDATE: The eagle has landed!!!! (UPS has arrived) and the RetroRocket sounds very cool indeed.

I can't believe how light it is! Especially compared to my Clapton Stratocaster, which is quite heavy.

Awesome dude, awesome. How does it sound? How does it compare to a strat? You should post a recording demoing it!

  3. hey guys, how do u add make the 'shimmer' guitar effect? i have a boss me 70, anyone know if that can do it or do u have to buy a shimmer pedal?
    Cheers
  4. line 6 verbzilla with octo reverb effect. best one ive heard.
  5. Hello all,

I was just wondering how many of you have any experience with the Boss ME-70. And do you like it?
I have a Boss ME-50 but the memory-banks are full and I was wondering if the ME-70 would be a nice addition.
I'm planning to attach both systems to each other which gives me a bit more options to add stuff like distortion or delay during a song (using a pre-set sound on the 70 and just one other effect on the 50)

I would really appreciate any advice/opinions you can give me.

    Greeting,

    Mike

i have the ME 70, all up has 36 customizble slots (9 lots of 4). i thinks its great, very easy to customize everything and if u have the patience u can get it sounding pretty close to the edge.
  7. I think the Line 6 M13 is the better of the multi-effects pedal board units. One can cover a lot of U2-related sonic territory. And, it has the octo-verb shimmer in there.

They list for $499 but can be found cheaper new and used on ebay. I think I paid... $415-ish for mine (new).

But if the Boss unit sounds good to you and you find it fits your needs that there is nothing wrong with that.
  8. Hey guys, I'm looking into buying my first wireless system (for guitar / bass). The one that has caught my eye is the Nady DKW-1 VHF, mainly because of the price. However, it also has some great ratings, which is also good. There are other options that I have been looking into from Nady, Audio-Tecnica, etc. For the price range ($150 and below), would this be the best choice? I mainly plan to use it at gigs.

    Thanks for any feedback!

I have no experience with them, but be aware that they have noise supressor built in, so if you like feedbacks you may be disappointed. I have also heard that they are not as loyal to the sound of the guitar as a good cable is, because the noise supression system cuts some frequencies. I imagine that it would bother only people with very good ears for details, but you could be one of these people.

@anstratdubh1979 thanks for your advice and opinions guys. I think I'll look up that Line 6 pedal board too
  11. Yeah I've heard wireless systems are no good unless you really pay a lot for them. I know the system Edge uses is super expensive (I checked it out sometime) and you can probably tell even he doesn't lkike using them too often because of the bit of sound loss he probably still gets. He still uses cables mostly in live shows.
  12. Thanks for the feedback guys. One reason why I'm still interested in trying it is the fact that it cost only a little bit more than a really long cable. As for the feedback, that would be a plus for me. I hate any feedback, so the suppressor sounds great. As for tone loss... most of my tone comes from the effect processor, so I'm not too worried about that. Even if it is lost from the guitar, I could just add the humbucker effect thing on the effect processor for my Epiphone (the only guitar that I own with a descent sound).
